Small 4to. 26 x 22.5 cm. [8], 48, (1) pp. with 5 b/w illustrations, 7 leaves with 6 colour illustrations reproducing the 1915 poem ‘My country’ by Dorothy Mackellar, 45 tipped-in plates, of which 30 are in colour (incl. frontispiece) and 15 in b/w. Orig. cloth-backed boards with dustjacket and an additional promotional dustjacket. Spine somewhat spotted, boards with a few stains, top edge of text block with larger stains, p. 5 with long tear, old inscription and more recent pencil note on endpaper, dustjacket browned along spine and edges, small defects to spine panel of jacket, old tape repairs to inside of jacket. Promotional jacket very browned and with torn folds (with some loss), spine panel with larger defect to bottom third, a few old tape repairs * A 1935 inscription and a pencil note stating that this was the copy of the Jersey artist Edmund Blampied. * The special feature of this copy is the presence of a rare promotional dustjacket, stating at the head of the front panel ‘Just Out’ and below some text about the book and the artist ‘This volume will not be reprinted. Only a limited number remain for sale’. The bottom half of the front and the entire back of the jacket with reprints of favourable press notices.
