Rebacked with original spine strip laid down, with some loss at bottom end of spine (ca. 4 cm), leatger corners with some rubbing and corner tips bumped and turned, original endpapers retained. * A description of the collection, taken drawer by drawer, and for each clutch are details of the circumstances of their being taken. The collection was the result of 24 years continuous work, from 1883. There are eggs of 526 species (1914 specimens), out of the 766 known birds in Australia. * One of only 120 copies printed. * This copy inscribed by the author at the head of the title to his sister Eva and brother-in-law James MacFarlane. “To dear Jim and Eva from Sid. Wm Jackson, the author. 1st June 1908”.
