Place Published: Lourmarin
Condition: Very Good
Date Published: 1933

24.5 x 19.5 cm. Woodcut frontispiece, LXXII, [VIII] pp. [80 pp]. Orig. titling wrappers over first and last leaf. Wrappers a little browned, some foxing to edges of textblock and to white margins of a few pages at the end. * Entirely unopened and uncut. * One of 120 copies, 100 copies ‘justifies aux nom des Amis de Lourmarin’ and 20 copies reserved for the authors and the Foundation de Lourmarin. * Henri Bosco (1888, Avignon – 1976, Nice) was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times.. Very rare.- Worldcat records just one copy held at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. Unseen by the online Bosco bibliography compiled by the Librarie ancienne Darreau – it follows the collation of the copy at Nice. * It appears the book was to be published in 1928 but made way instead for another book by Bosco, Les Églogues de la mer. This book carries the publisher’s note: “Pour des raisons purement typographiques, ‘Les Inscriptions votives d’Henri Bosco ont dû être remplacées par ‘Les Églogues de la mer’ du même poète”
