Budden, Doiley Publications, 61 Westmoreland Street, Glebe, N.S.W. 2037’ * * Frances Phoenix (née Budden) (1950-2017) was an Australian feminist artist known for needlework and poster designs. * “In 1978 Frances was a one of eight artists who exhibited in ‘An exhibition of work by homosexual and lesbian artists’, at Watters Gallery in Sydney, the first explicitly gay and lesbian art exhibition in Australia, held as part of the 4th National Homosexual Conference.
